How your application is handled

Parts of this process are automated, and we want you to know exactly which ones.

  • Automation moves it along. Your answers go into an automated pipeline that keeps the steps in order and keeps our reviewers informed.
  • AI reads and summarises, nothing more. We use a Mistral model, run through Scaleway's Generative APIs in the EU, in two places. When you apply on Open Collective, it reads your public page and gives a first impression, which shapes the first email you get from us. Once you send this form, it reads your answers, your Open Collective page and your project's README, and writes a short summary for our reviewers. Your email address is never sent to it.
  • A person makes every decision. The AI never approves or rejects an application. A member of the Open Source Europe team reads your application and decides.
